15 New Health Services to Be Added in Eight Federal Hospitals

Service Expansion Campaign in Federal Hospitals Throughout the Month of Baisakh

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – Minister of Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, has announced a program to launch and expand 15 new health services across eight federal hospitals throughout the month of Baisakh.

According to the Ministry, Bir Hospital is set to launch a new 9-bed surgical ICU. Bharatpur Hospital will introduce services such as a cath lab, burn ward, and an infertility clinic. Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital will start a pediatric ward and PICU, while Bheri Hospital will begin kidney transplant services.

Similarly, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences will add 20 beds to its emergency ward. Narayani Hospital in Birgunj is getting a cath lab, Tanahun’s Respiratory Center will provide hemodialysis services, and Geta Hospital in Dhangadhi will operate a modular OT, emergency ward, and an oxygen plant.

These service expansions are being coordinated under the leadership of Health Secretary Dr. Bikash Devkota. Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki shared that more hospitals will see similar service upgrades within the current fiscal year.
