Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh to enhance and streamline eye treatment services, capacity development, and exchange of human resources.
The agreement was signed during a program held at Nepal Police Headquarters on Tuesday in the presence of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa. On behalf of Nepal Police Hospital, the MoU was signed by the hospital’s Medical Director, Technical Additional Inspector General of Police Dr. Sundar Prasad Hyoju, and on behalf of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, it was signed by General Secretary Bharat Bahadur Chand. Additionally, both Dr. Hyoju and General Secretary Chand exchanged the signed copies of the agreement.
During the event, IGP Deepak Thapa expressed that the understanding would boost the morale of police personnel who are constantly engaged in maintaining peace and order. He also expressed confidence that there would be further collaboration and coordination between Nepal Police and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh in the future to expand services.
On the occasion, General Secretary Bharat Bahadur Chand of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh said it was an honor to collaborate with police personnel who are committed to serving the public. He also assured that the Sangh would always be ready to expand its services in the future.
As per the agreement, the cooperation and coordination between Nepal Police Hospital and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh will aim to make eye and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) treatment services more accessible and effective. The agreement includes programs for improving the delivery of quality eye care services, exchange of manpower and expertise, capacity development programs, and raising public awareness about eye health. Furthermore, the Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh will provide 100% discount on all eye-related treatments and surgeries for active police personnel referred by Nepal Police Hospital.
The agreement will come into effect from 9th Baisakh 2082 (corresponding to April 21, 2025) and will remain valid for a period of three years.
The event was attended by Additional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, senior police officers, and officials from the Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh.
