Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – Nepali-origin doctor Dr. Riya Bohara, currently practicing medicine in the United States, has achieved a historic success in the renowned Doctor’s Dilemma competition organized by the American College of Physicians (ACP) in 2025. Alongside her three-member team, she won the Osler Cup Award 2025, becoming the first Nepali to claim this prestigious title.
This international-level competition was held this year in New Orleans, Louisiana. Over the course of three intense days, 60 top Internal Medicine resident teams from countries including the United States, India, Japan, Canada, and Mexico competed fiercely. Participants had to prove themselves by tackling difficult challenges based on clinical reasoning, medical decision-making, and in-depth medical knowledge.
Dr. Bohara participated in the competition representing the Massachusetts chapter of the American College of Physicians and Saint Vincent Hospital. Her team's outstanding performance not only brought international recognition to their institution but also solidified its reputation as one of the world’s leading centers for clinical education.
