Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: Residential doctors have announced that they will halt all services except emergency care starting today, citing continuous neglect.
The Nepal Medical Association has also issued a statement urging doctors to boycott all health services except for essential ones like emergency and intensive care.
According to the doctors, they have yet to receive their subsistence allowances and have been receiving threats from various places during their protests, forcing them to take to the streets to demand their rights.
Doctors in the Kathmandu Valley are set to gather at Maitighar Mandala at 11 a.m. today and march toward the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, the association has instructed doctors outside the valley to stage sit-in protests in front of their respective District Administration Offices.
