10 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine assistance to Nepal

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: India has announced that it will provide 1 million doses of the Covishield vaccine to Nepal free of charge to assist in the prevention and control of the coronavirus infection.

During a joint press conference held at the Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday, Minister Hridayesh Tripathi and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra shared information about this vaccine assistance.

The Covishield vaccine, produced by the Serum Institute of India, is expected to arrive in Nepal tomorrow. In the first phase, the vaccine will be distributed with priority given to healthcare workers, ambulance drivers, and security personnel.

The government believes that this assistance will play a significant role in managing the pandemic. India, on the other hand, has presented this as a symbol of mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.
