Vaccination for all children, opportunity on Baisakh 31

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – The government is set to launch a special vaccination campaign on Baisakh 31 targeting children under five who missed routine immunizations.

According to Dr. Abhiyan Gautam, Head of the Child Health and Immunization Section under the Department of Health Services, nine types of routine vaccines will be administered to children who, for various reasons, missed their immunizations in the past. “The special campaign is being conducted to provide vaccines to children under the age of five who have not been vaccinated yet,” Dr. Gautam explained.

Currently, around 95% of children nationwide have received full immunization, and the goal is to identify and vaccinate the remaining 5%.

The Ministry of Health and Population has urged parents to take their children to the nearest health center for vaccination to ensure that no child is left out of immunization services.
