Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – A special task force has been formed at the initiative of Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Poudel, with the objective of improving the service delivery at Bir Hospital.
The three-member team, led by senior physician Dr. Madan Upadhyay, will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the hospital’s resources, infrastructure, and services, and recommend necessary improvements.
The task force also includes health management expert Deepak Mohan Bhattarai and Dr. Suresh Tiwari. According to the Ministry of Health, the team has been assigned the responsibility of recommending measures for the effective utilization of the hospital's human resources and technology.
The task force has also been directed to assess the service status of departments such as Pharmacy, Radiology, Pathology, and Orthopedics, as well as conduct technical evaluations of the equipment being used, and propose necessary improvements. Additionally, it will provide suggestions for resolving administrative and financial challenges faced by the hospital.
The team has been instructed to analyze challenges to increasing transparency and efficiency in hospital management through the use of digital technology and to present future plans accordingly.
Earlier, Minister Poudel collaborated with the National Innovation Center for the repair of non-functioning medical equipment at the hospital. Under the leadership of Mahabir Pun, the center successfully repaired and brought many devices back into operation at a low cost.
Bir Hospital Director Dr. Dilip Sharma stated that efforts will be made to implement the task force’s recommendations to the fullest extent possible.
