The procurement process for Paracetamol and Jeevan Jal has been initiated by Aushadhi Limited

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – The government has become actively involved in resolving the issue of unsold medicines produced by Nepal Aushadhi Limited. Following a high-level discussion held on Tuesday, the procurement process has been formally initiated.

The Management Division of the Department of Health Services has started the necessary correspondence to procure Paracetamol and Jeevan Jal for use in the programs of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division.

According to Division Chief Dr. Pawan Jung Rayamajhi, the procurement process was initiated after discussions were held with representatives of Aushadhi Limited under the direct involvement of Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel. He clarified that the process will now move forward according to prevailing regulations.

Officials from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, and Nepal Aushadhi Limited participated in the discussion. After the meeting, Minister Paudel committed to ensuring that the required medicines are delivered to healthcare institutions at all three levels and that the procurement process would proceed positively.

Additionally, there was an agreement to form an inter-ministerial committee to find a long-term solution to the problem of unsold medicines. The committee will be coordinated by the Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and will include representatives from the Ministries of Health, Finance, and Federal Affairs.
