The first municipality-level Ayurveda and physiotherapy service in Lumbini Province has been launched in Sunwal

Nepal Health News, Nawalparasi – For the first time in Lumbini Province, a municipality-operated Ayurveda and physiotherapy health service center has been established in Sunwal Municipality of West Nawalparasi. Launched with an investment of around NPR 1.5 million, the center aims to provide treatments through exercise, hydrotherapy, electronic equipment, and Ayurvedic methods.

According to Mayor Bimala Aryal, the center offers treatment based on physical exercises, hydrotherapy, and touch therapy without the use of medication. The service is expected to be particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from back, waist, neck, joint, and nerve-related problems, as well as those affected by paralysis.

For patients with chronic diseases and those who have not improved through allopathic treatments, the center provides Panchakarma-based Ayurvedic therapies. In its initial phase, the center will offer services such as Ekanga Swedan (localized steam therapy), Sarvanga Swedan (full-body steam therapy), Nasya (nasal therapy), Basti (medicated enema), Janu Basti (knee treatment), Greeva Basti (neck treatment), and Kati Picchu (lumbar therapy).

The center will also provide free Ayurvedic medicines to patients with conditions such as anorectal disorders, arthritis, piles, fistula, gastritis, and uric acid issues. Ayurvedic physician Dr. Gobardhan Chaudhary informed that healthy individuals can also use Ayurvedic medicines to boost their immunity.

The service fee has been set at NPR 100 for a week. The center will be operated by one Ayurvedic doctor, one physiotherapist, and one therapy provider.

Located at the Urban Health Center in Sunwal-1, the facility was jointly inaugurated by District Coordination Committee Chief Bhagwati Yadav and Mayor Bimala Aryal.
