Rescue by helicopter for the treatment of a teenage girl from Humla

Nepal Health News, Humla – Dhanashila Budha, an 18-year-old girl from Chankheli Rural Municipality-6, was airlifted to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet by a Nepali Army helicopter after she developed a sudden health emergency.

Budha, who was suffering from labor pain, was initially brought to the Humla District Hospital. However, due to the unavailability of the required treatment, she was referred elsewhere, according to Pratiksha Bharti, the acting chief of the District Health Office, Humla.

According to her, Budha experienced labor pains at just 32 weeks of pregnancy and started showing signs of severe bleeding, which could not be treated at the district hospital. This made it necessary to immediately transfer her for advanced medical care.

Under the President’s Women Upliftment Program, she was rescued with the support of the Nepali Army and transported to Surkhet via air.
