Dengue risk increasing in Rautahat, infections intensifying due to heat

Nepal Health News, Rautahat – With the rising temperatures in Rautahat, the risk of dengue infection is increasing rapidly. According to data from the past two weeks, more than 50 people have been confirmed to be infected with dengue, as reported by the Rautahat District Health Office.

Local residents have expressed concern over the growing number of mosquitoes since the onset of summer. Gaur Municipality has been identified as one of the most affected areas, with several wards reporting a significant number of infections.

To control the situation, the municipality is preparing to carry out fogging (smoke spraying) across all wards, according to Acting Administrative Officer Subhash Kumar Thakur.

As the number of dengue patients rises in local health centers, shortages of medicine and testing kits have started to emerge. Meanwhile, the Public Health Office has launched awareness campaigns to educate the community.

District Public Health Chief Dr. Ramesh Yadav has urged the public to prevent water from stagnating around their homes to stop mosquito breeding. Local residents have called for strengthening the healthcare system to prevent further spread of the infection.
