Nepal Health News, Kathmandu — Dr. Ajay Shah has been elected as the President of the Nepal Dental Association in its 16th executive committee election. The association is the umbrella organization of around 6,000 dental doctors across the country.
Dr. Shah received 782 votes, while his closest contender, Dr. Achyut Bhatt, secured 680 votes.
Similarly, Dr. Dilip Prajapati has been elected as Vice President, Dr. Pradeep Bhandari as General Secretary, Dr. Lokesh Verma as Treasurer, and Dr. Deepak Sharma as Joint Secretary.
The elected executive committee members include Dr. Bhumes Kafle, Dr. Sirish Chandra Regmi, Dr. Ishu Ghimire, Dr. Sanjay Ranjit, Dr. Bijita Mandal, and Dr. Juned Hasan. The association has a total of 2,547 registered members.
Notably, Dr. Shah is the first person elected as the Association's President from among the dental doctors working outside the capital. He is currently serving in Janakpur. According to Dr. Shah, there are currently around 6,000 dental doctors in the country.
