Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: The Nepal National Doctors Association (NDAN) has urged the Medical Education Commission to take strict action against medical colleges that fail to implement the stipulated stipend policy.
A delegation led by the Association's Vice President, Dr. Chandika Pandit, submitted a memorandum to the Commission’s Vice Chairman, Prof. Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, demanding the cancellation of affiliations with colleges that do not provide the required stipend.
The Association has been pressuring for the implementation of the stipend determined during the 16th meeting of the Medical Education Commission. According to the Association, Kathmandu Medical College, Nobel Medical College, Chitwan Medical College, Kantipur Dental College, and People's Dental College have not implemented the decision.
The memorandum also demands that MBBS and postgraduate seats involved in the matching process at the non-compliant colleges be withheld and that these seats be reduced and adjusted into government colleges instead.
