Nepal Health News, Kapilvastu – The 8th General Assembly and 2nd Convention of the Nepal Pharmacy Association, Lumbini Province, was successfully held on Saturday in Chandrauta. During the convention, a new leadership team was elected, appointing Khemraj Tiwari as President.
A 10-member new committee was unanimously elected during the event, which was held under the chief guestship of Central President Yuvraj Bhusal. The newly formed committee includes Subhendra Prasad Yadav, Sulav Adhikari, and Subeksha Gautam as Vice Presidents, while Uday Bahadur Khatri has been entrusted with the responsibility of General Secretary.
Similarly, Ojaswi Rajthal has been appointed as Treasurer, with Mahesh Ranabhat and Sunil Dwivedi selected as Joint Secretaries. Sujata Dangi and Bimal Gharti Magar have been included as members, according to President Tiwari.
Inaugurating the convention, Association President Yuvraj Bhusal emphasized the need to maintain quality in the pharmacy profession. He stressed that, along with ensuring patient safety, the professional status of pharmacists and the credibility of medicine production are equally important. He also strongly opposed the practice of renting out pharmacy licenses and urged to put an end to such activities.
Special guest Kiran Dhakal remarked that delays in resolving pharmacists' issues are due to uncertainties in policy-making. He stated that raising the issue of unnecessary orientation programs is inappropriate when there is already an adequate pharmacy workforce.
The convention saw participation from Dhruva Kumar Sharma, among others. The event was coordinated by Ramesh Khanal and chaired by Govinda Tiwari
