Economic concessions for cancer treatment in 14 government hospitals

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:The government has decided to provide special concessions for cancer treatment at 14 hospitals located in two provinces of the country. According to information from the Ministry of Health and Population, hospitals in Bagmati and Koshi provinces will offer facilities up to one hundred thousand rupees for surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medicines, bed services, and all laboratory-related treatments.

This facility is mainly intended for patients from economically disadvantaged groups. To avail of the benefit, patients must obtain a recommendation letter from the ward office of their permanent address and the local municipality and then contact the respective hospital.

Hospitals in Bagmati Province

  • Bir Hospital

  • Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital

  • Patan Hospital

  • Kanti Children's Hospital

  • Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital

  • Civil Service Hospital (Minbhawan)

  • B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan

  • Chitwan Medical College

  • Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital

  • Cancer Care Nepal, Jawalakhel

  • Kathmandu Cancer Center, Tathali, Bhaktapur

  • Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center

  • Dhulikhel Hospital, Kavre

Koshi Province

  • B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan

This government initiative is expected to provide relief to many patients who were unable to access timely services due to the high cost of treatment.
