Nationwide black armband protest continues on the second day to protect the radiography profession

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:The peaceful protest program by radiographers and radiography technologists across the country against the ONM proposed by the Ministry of Health and Population has entered its second day today.

Led by the Government Radiography Association of Nepal, this campaign has gained wider momentum. The protest, which started in Kathmandu, has now reached major cities and health institutions across the country, including Jhapa, Kanchanpur, Butwal, Pokhara, Chitwan, Janakpur, Dhangadhi, and others.

The protesting staff members are performing their regular duties in hospitals and health centers while showing their protest by wearing black armbands.

The association’s president, Damodar Rokka, clarified that the movement is for the long-term future, respect, and existence of the profession. He stated that if the government does not seriously discuss the issue, they may be forced to escalate the movement.

The association has also warned that if a clear response is not received from the government by Asar 7 (mid-June), they will announce the next phase of the movement.

This campaign has shown solidarity among radiography students, trainers, and experienced experts, which has further energized the movement.

The association has once again urged all professionals to speak with a united voice and actively participate in the movement to protect the dignity of the radiography profession.
