A woman infected with coronavirus dies at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: A woman infected with coronavirus who was undergoing treatment at Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar has died.

The 39-year-old woman from Suryodaya Municipality, Ilam, was admitted to Nobel Hospital on Tuesday morning. According to Dipesh Rai, the manager of Nobel Hospital, she passed away this morning while receiving treatment in the emergency room.

She had been experiencing fever and respiratory problems for the past seven days. On Monday, she was taken to Birtamod’s Birtacity Hospital for initial testing, where she was confirmed to be infected with coronavirus and was subsequently brought to Biratnagar for further treatment.

After her death, the hospital administration handed over the responsibility of managing the body to security personnel.

Currently, the number of coronavirus cases is rising again in Province 1. According to the Provincial Health Ministry, so far, eight infected individuals have been identified, including four from Jhapa, and two each from Morang and Ilam.
