Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed all concerned bodies to return unspent grant funds from the current fiscal year. The ministry has notified hospitals, institutions, committees, boards, councils, and centers to return any unutilized grants—excluding unconditional ones—to the government within the same fiscal year.
As per sub-rule 3 of Rule 79 of the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Regulations, any grant funds (except for unconditional grants) that remain unspent must be returned.
A statement issued by the ministry’s Deputy Secretary of Accounts, Gopi Chandra Bhandari, states that any funds already released by the Treasury and Accounts Control Office in the fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25) but not yet spent must be coordinated with the respective offices and returned to the government within the same fiscal year.
