Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – In order to address the dissatisfaction caused by the proposal of the Organization and Management (O&M) survey related to increasing positions in the health sector, Minister of Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, held a special discussion with relevant stakeholders at the ministry yesterday.
The discussion was attended by senior officials of the ministry, representatives of various health professional associations, and other concerned bodies. The objective of the meeting was to conduct an overall review of the complaints raised regarding the file recommending new positions that was sent to the Ministry of Finance.
On Jestha 28 (June 10), the Ministry of Health had submitted an O&M report to the Ministry of Finance, proposing the addition of 2,102 new positions. However, various associations expressed objections to the proposal, citing a lack of professional balance.
As a result, the Ministry of Finance returned the file, seeking clarification on six specific points. The Ministry of Health is now in the process of reviewing the report based on those points.
During the discussion, Minister Paudel committed to preparing a balanced proposal based on stakeholders' suggestions and moving the process forward promptly.
