The commission's 20th meeting was held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, during which various decisions regarding seat allocations for different institutions were made.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Commission Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, reached decisions based on the presented monitoring and evaluation report. So far, a total of 285 educational institutions—comprising constituent, non-profit (institutional and partnership-based), and private levels—have been assigned seat quotas.

After the report was submitted to Prime Minister Oli, the responsibility to prepare an implementation proposal was assigned to the commission’s Vice-Chairperson, Prof. Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha. The meeting also approved internally sourced programs and the budget for the commission for the upcoming fiscal year.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Oli instructed the preparation of necessary amendments to the Medical Education Act 2075 (2018). Emphasizing the need for strategic planning in the education sector, he highlighted the importance of quality, facilitation, and expansion.
