Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:A one-year performance agreement has been signed at the Ministry of Health and Population with the aim of making service delivery more effective, transparent, and citizen-focused. The agreement was signed on Wednesday during a program between Minister Pradeep Paudel and the ministry’s two secretaries.
Minister Paudel signed separate performance contracts with Health Secretary Dr. Vikas Devkota and Administrative Secretary Dilliram Sharma, emphasizing the need for implementation in a way that allows citizens to directly feel the impact of policy reforms.
He stated that service delivery should not only be evaluated through indicators but also based on the experiences and satisfaction of the citizens. “The impact of work must be visible in the results,” he said, adding, “Citizens’ experiences are a stronger proof than government reports.”
Health Secretary Dr. Devkota expressed the ministry’s commitment to moving forward with a work plan to address public health challenges. He clearly stated that the tasks mentioned in the agreement would be completed on time, emphasizing, “There can be no compromise in citizens' health.”

Similarly, Administrative Secretary Sharma stated that the ministry is serious about human resource management and administrative reform. He shared that the transfer and promotion processes of health workers would be conducted in a transparent and scientific manner. Sharma clarified that all necessary reforms and arrangements would be adopted to ensure the successful implementation of the agreement.
