Fake doctor exposed in Bharatpur
Nepal Health News, Bharatpur – A fake doctor has been exposed at an illegally operating dental clinic in Hakim Chowk, Bharatpur, Chitwan. During an inspection on Friday by a team from the Nepal Medical Council, it was revealed that the clinic, named Healthy Smile Dental Care Center, was not registered with any relevant authority.
According to the inspection team, the clinic was being operated by a person named Bisham Chaudhary. Although Chaudhary claimed to have completed BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from Chhattisgarh, India, and CDS (Certificate in Dental Science) from a private institution in Kathmandu, it was confirmed that he is not registered with the Nepal Medical Council.
The inspection was carried out with the participation of Dr. Anil Bikram Karki, President of the Nepal Medical Association; Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, President of the Nepal Dental Association; Dr. Bikrant Dhakal, a member of the Council; and representatives from the Chitwan District Administration Office. The action was taken based on a complaint registered with the Council.
During the inspection, it was found that no qualified medical professionals were present at the clinic, and Chaudhary himself had been examining patients. Alongside Chaudhary, two other staff members were found working there. Patients reported that Chaudhary, claiming to be a doctor, recommended expensive tests.
For security purposes, CCTV footage from the clinic has been confiscated and handed over to the police. Further evidence is expected to emerge after the analysis of the footage.
