Late Renewal of Health Insurance Will Incur Additional Charges: Health Insurance Board

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – From now on, it will be possible to renew health insurance from home. This service has been introduced to make the government-run health insurance program more accessible and convenient.

Individuals who had previously enrolled in the health insurance program but have not yet renewed it can do so without paying any additional fees if they renew by Asoj 31, 2082 (mid-October 2025). The renewal process can be easily completed through eSewa, Khalti, Connect IPS, or by visiting the nearest registration assistant.

According to information provided by the Health Insurance Board, if the renewal is not done within the specified time, an additional charge will be applied. A 1% penalty will be imposed if the renewal is delayed up to three months, and further delay will incur additional charges based on the number of days overdue.

The Board has urged all insured individuals to renew their policies on time so that they can continue to receive health services without interruption.
