Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:Renowned health expert and senior neurologist Dr. Lekh Jung Thapa has been announced as the candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3.
RSP's secretariat meeting selected Dr. Thapa from among nine aspirants. He received the highest number of votes in the online primary election held on Bhadra 12 (August 28).
Dr. Thapa is an experienced and respected medical professional. After completing his MBBS, he pursued a DM in Internal Medicine and an MD in Neurology.
Having long been involved in the treatment of brain and nervous system disorders, Dr. Thapa has entered politics with the aim of transforming society through improved healthcare services and expert-driven policies.
RSP has positioned Dr. Thapa's candidacy as "the people's alternative for health and prosperity." According to the party, his experience in the medical field will be instrumental in shaping public policy.
The by-election in Rupandehi–3 is set to take place soon, where Dr. Thapa will be contesting with a health-focused vision.
