Nepal Health News, Tulsipur. Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur, Dang, has been allowed to operate 144 beds despite only being allowed to have 50 beds, as the patient load has increased. According to the acting medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Padma Raj Adhikari, the hospital has been burdened by the increasing demand for services despite limited infrastructure and manpower.
Currently, 18 people are working in the posts of 14 consultant doctors and 24 people are working in the posts of 7 medical officers. 235 employees have been mobilized in the posts of 72 people.
Hospital Development Committee Chairman Mahendra Raj Lamichhane said he was optimistic that the approval and budget for 200 beds would come in the coming fiscal year. He informed that initiatives are being taken to expand the hospital to 200 beds amid widespread demands.
