Four-Day Second Neurocon Conference Begins in Kathmandu: New Enthusiasm Sparked by Nursing and Anesthesia Pre-Conference

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu:The highly anticipated second Neurocon Conference, organized by the Upendra Devkota Foundation in Bansbari, Kathmandu, has officially commenced. Aimed at enhancing the knowledge and fostering experience-sharing among professionals working in the health sector, the first day of the conference began with a special pre-conference session dedicated to the Nursing and Anesthesia departments. The event has seen participation from over 50 individuals.

A Day Filled with Life-Saving Training

The first day of this four-day-long conference proved to be highly impactful. Participating nurses and anesthesia specialists received practical training on Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). These trainings are considered essential and life-saving for health workers in nursing and anesthesia fields.

Through the BLS training, participants learned how to provide immediate assistance during cardiac arrest, including chest compressions (CPR), artificial respiration, and basic rescue procedures. The ACLS session offered in-depth practical training on medication management, advanced treatment methods for cardiac arrest, defibrillation, and team-based coordinated responses.

Inauguration Ceremony: Presence of Leadership

The conference was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Madhu Dixit Devkota, Executive Chairperson of the Foundation and Neuro Hospital, along with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Milan Gurung and Nursing Director Chhaya Devi Gurung.

Speaking at the opening, Dr. Devkota stated, “Such knowledge-based training and conferences are indispensable for continuous improvement in the health sector. Our hospital is committed to becoming a leading institution in the country through a blend of education, practice, and research.”

CEO Milan Gurung added, “We prioritize the development of knowledge and skills of healthcare workers. The second Neurocon Conference is a part of that commitment.”

Nursing Director Chhaya Devi Gurung expressed her appreciation for the dedication and participation shown in organizing the event, saying, “Our nursing team is capable, compassionate, and skilled. Trainings like this boost their confidence and performance further.”

Training Venue Collaboration

The first day’s sessions were hosted at the Center of Medical Simulation, located in Kamaladi Complex, which provided the venue. The simulation lab, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, allowed participants to practice in settings closely mimicking real-life emergency situations.

Representatives from the Center of Medical Simulation offered full technical support to facilitate the training. Many participants stated this was one of the most practical and valuable trainings they had ever attended.

Upcoming Days of the Conference

Following the successful pre-conference sessions, the main events of the conference are now set to begin. Over the next few days, the second Neurocon Conference will feature presentations of research papers, clinical case discussions, and interactive sessions focused on neuroscience, neurosurgery, anesthesia, and nursing.

According to the organizers, this conference is expected to provide a historic opportunity for multidisciplinary health professionals to come together on a common platform to exchange knowledge and experiences.

Conclusion

The first day of the second Neurocon Conference has already set a high standard for the rest of the event. With practical training, expert guidance, and enthusiastic participation, the conference is progressing strongly toward success.
