Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a strict directive targeting employees who have recently been transferred but have not reported to their assigned workplaces, ordering them to report within three days.
According to the ministry, the decision was made following increasing complaints that transferred employees are still working on deputation at various locations, receiving services while stationed outside their designated posts, and causing difficulties in getting them to join their new assignments.
Under the directive of Minister Pradeep Paudel, the ministry’s Human Resource Management Division has sent official letters to federal hospitals and all subordinate offices.
The letter clearly states that transferred employees must report to their designated locations within three days, or they will face departmental action. It also mentions that employees who continue to receive benefits while stationed elsewhere without reporting to their assigned posts will be required to repay the amount received.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki stated that any employee or office that disregards this directive will face disciplinary action. According to him, the longstanding practice of employees working on deputation outside their sanctioned positions has negatively affected service delivery, and the ministry now aims to bring this practice under control.
Following this decision, the ministry expects transferred employees to report on time and relevant offices to implement the directive without making excuses
